600 Eighth Avenue is a 12 story manufacturing and showroom building, located in NYC's Special Garment Zoning District. The building was constructed in the 1920's and is composed of a concrete encased steel frame and enclosed with fully bonded brick masonry. ZNA designed and performed construction administration for the building's $550,000 exterior restoration project featuring the reproduction of new ornamental crenelated parapets after a careful inventory of their original limestone ornamental units. ZNA was able to integrate the limestone units into a seismically reinforced parapet design equipped with membrane flashings. A new guaranteed 20-year NDL roofing installation was also performed in preparation for the installation of new cell-phone tower and bulkhead enclosing support equipment, for which ZNA performed Owner's representation and detailing services to assure that masonry and roofing warranties were maintained.
