The 16-story residential structure is comprised of a reinforced concrete superstructure with a brick masonry cavity style curtain wall. The $750,000 program of repairs consisted of new corners, new parapets, and bulkhead repairs. A careful evaluation of the 30 year-old metal insert fasteners cast within the concrete frame designed to support each floor's continuous brick shelf angle was required. The inserts were re-built, removed and replaced with a substitute system, and re-torqued (tightened to an established standard) to restore structural integrity. ZNA developed building-wide roof and terrace use guidelines.
